Pre-Delivery Inspection
PDI
The builder walkthrough that records a new home's condition before possession.
A pre-delivery inspection (PDI) is a builder-led walkthrough of a newly built home with the buyer, just before possession, where you document anything incomplete, damaged, or not working. Its main job is record-keeping: the PDI form is the official record of the home's condition before you take possession, which supports your new-home warranty later. It is not the same as an independent home inspection, and it does not itself start your warranty coverage.
