    Home Inspection

An independent check of a home's condition before you buy.

A home inspection is an independent, buyer-hired visual assessment of a home's major systems and components (roof, structure, electrical, plumbing, heating, and signs of water or pests) before you commit to buying. It is advisory, not pass-or-fail, and it protects your decision when done during a condition of inspection in your offer. It is most associated with resale homes but is often worth getting on a new build too, as an unbiased second opinion.

General information only, not legal, tax, or financial advice. Rules change and vary by province; confirm the current details with the relevant authority before you rely on them.
