The Certificate of Completion and Possession (CCP) is the document a builder provides at possession of a new Ontario home. The date it records (the date of possession for a freehold home, or the occupancy date for a condominium unit) is what starts your Tarion warranty periods (the one-, two-, and seven-year clocks), and it confirms key details of the home. It matters because your warranty claim deadlines are calculated from that date, not from your purchase agreement or your PDI.
